The City of Victoriaville inaugurated the work carried out at the Arthabaska Community Center on Friday.

The improvements made have made it possible to make the Center more universally accessible, but also to upgrade all the infrastructure to make them more functional and adapted.

Youth cure needed

The rejuvenation phase of the Arthabaska Community Center consisted of replacing the roof, the entire building envelope, electrical services, plumbing, heating system and ventilation.

The exterior infrastructures, multifunctional rooms and sanitary blocks have also been reviewed.

New electric charging stations have been added and will soon be put into service.

A solar wall was installed, allowing the air entering the building to be preheated.

Subsidies and an alliance

This project was made possible thanks to a grant from the Quebec government for an amount of $1,652,900.80 as part of their Financial Assistance Program for Recreational and Sports Infrastructure.

The Government of Canada also contributed an amount of $1,033,063 through the Community, Cultural and Recreational Infrastructure component of the Investing in Canada infrastructure program.

The modernization of the Community Center was carried out in collaboration with the Bois-Francs School Services Center, as part of an agreement to share resources and expertise in building and civil engineering project management.
