At the Polygone de Béziers, the Kinépolis company is waiting for municipal permits to start its second phase of work. Bought on December 13, 2023, a large part of the cinema has already been redone. The work should be completed this fall. Two special rooms have been created with cutting-edge, latest-generation equipment allowing for total immersion.

The second phase of work on the Kinépolis cinema, located at the Polygone in Béziers, will soon begin. “We are waiting for municipal authorizations before starting the work“, confides Anne-Sophie Le Guiader, head of sales in France for Kinépolis. The cinema was bought by the Belgian company Kinépolis on December 13, 2023 from the Monciné company. The entire complex underwent renovation work at the beginning of the year.”During the first phase, we changed 7 screens, all the servers, all the projectors, all the seats, 1,600 m2 of carpet, and 1,300 m2 of liner.“, lists Anne-Sophie Le Guiader. The second phase will involve the renovation of the cinema lobby, the reception area, the meeting rooms and the confectionery sector. The end of the work is normally planned for this fall.

Two special rooms have been created

The Screenx room can broadcast a 270° panoramic image for total immersion in 2D. During certain scenes, the images extend laterally to the left and right of the screen for approximately 1/3 of the duration of the film, plunging the viewer into an even more immersive cinema experience. This technology uses two projectors located on either side of the main screen to extend the images onto the side walls of the room.

The city of Béziers is the seventh venue in France to benefit from the Laser Ultra venue“, assures Anne-Sophie Le Guiader. This room benefits from a 4K projector, the only laser projector in the world capable of displaying 4K content in 60 frames per second, as well as 3D films in 4K resolution, at exceptional brightness levels (60,000 lumens). Unlike traditional cinema projectors that use xenon bulbs, laser projection provides abundant brightness with a wider spectrum, more natural colors and higher contrast levels. Combined with Dolby Atmos immersive sound, characterized by 64 unique diffusion channels, Laser Ultra technology offers multidimensional sound.
