FENCING: The U13s in national competition in Paray le Monial and Guy Platret in Nantes

This Saturday, the Paray le Monial club organized a national foil and épée event for the M13s. This event was open to clubs in the North East Zone and Reunion.
It was a first for our young shooters, they entered a competition at the highest level in the region. They had an experience and not been overwhelmed by the challenge.
Clémence LAJAMBE finished in 16th place out of the 40 girls present, after a somewhat difficult group round with one, two wins and four losses. Opposed in the first round to a Nivernaise that Clémence knows well (4th time they meet this season) Clémence does not give her opponent time to set up her game, she wins by 8 touches to 3. In the following round, she loses against a young girl from Epinal by 8 to 4.

The next day, Clémence teamed up with the Vittel club, one of their shooters having recently been injured, Clémence replaced her at short notice. Team made up of two boys and two girls, 36-touch relay event, they finished in 4th place.
Alexandre MAGNIEN and Louis FULGINI only competed in the individual epee competition, they came out with 25° for Louis and 27° for Alexandre at the end of the group round. They have two wins and four losses in group play. They both won their table of 64 and fell to 32°, they ranked 25° and 27° in this competition out of the 50 boys present.
Clémence and Alexandre are M13 first year and Louis M11 was shooting higher, they had come to see the technical level of a National competition, they will be more armed next year…

Guy PLATRET finished 24° in Nantes at the French Veteran 4 Championships after a group round with three victories and three defeats, he came out 18° for the table. Opposing BLIN de Gradignan, he lost by 10 to 5 in his first elimination match.
