After the actions of farmers on Wednesday in Mont-de-Marsan, the prefect of Landes, Françoise Tahéri, announces that she will file a complaint against the Rural Coordination in the afternoon, reports Thursday November 21 France Bleu Gascogne. The farmers notably lit a fire in front of the building of the DDTM, the Departmental Directorate of Territories and the Sea. “The red line has been crossed”, declares the prefect.

Since Wednesday, members of the Rural Coordination from Lot-et-Garonne, Béarn and Gers have been helping those from Landes and blocking Scalandes, the Leclerc purchasing center and storage platform, along the ring road. of Mont-de-Marsan, noted France Bleu Gascogne. On Wednesday evening, they also carried out two other actions: they dumped straw, tires and rubbish in front of the MSA, the Mutualité sociale agricole, and they lit a fire in the DDTM compound.

It is this last action that “strongly condemns” the prefect. “A fire was lit on the public highway and farmers voluntarily, I mean voluntarily, moved it into the DDTM compound, in the immediate vicinity of the premises, while there were agents who were in the process of to work indoorsshe describes. This is unacceptable!” Françoise Tahéri says she understands the farmers' anger, but “the motto of the Minister of the Interior is clear, he repeated it again this morning: no attacks on property or people”she repeats.

The prefect will therefore “file a complaint this afternoon”, the first time since she was appointed in January 2022, when there were protests by farmers, hunters, etc. “I called the president [de la Coordination rurale]Vincent Coco, I told him that trust was broken, she continues. We agreed, when we met, that there would be demonstrations but that they would take place in good conditions. Today, I am counting on him so that there will be an unblocking of the Scalandes by Friday evening at the latest.” After this ultimatum, “it will not be tolerable for blockages to continue beyond that”concludes Françoise Tahéri.
