“We would like to remind you that this practice is strictly prohibited on Hydro-Québec poles, for safety reasons and to preserve the integrity of the network. Objects, posters or other, whether decorative or not, are prohibited on the poles, with a few exceptions, such as election posters, road traffic signs or bus stop signs,” the City states on its website.

“No posting is permitted on public property and private streets with the exception of public signs,” the department explains on the City’s web page. Any sign must be installed so that no part of said sign encroaches on neighboring property or public property. It is also prohibited to install signs on trees, shrubs, fence posts, telephone and electricity poles, fences, fence walls, building roofs, low walls and gazebos. Reports will be issued in the event of non-compliance with these rules.
