Industry and neighborhood, a forum to find your job in Nîmes – News

This Thursday, November 21, Jérôme Bonet, prefect of Gard, accompanied by Mathias Nieps, sub-prefect in charge of city policy, deputy secretary general, inaugurated the industrial careers forum at the Jean Paulhan social center in Nîmes in the priority district of the town of Mas de Mingue.

Many young people were present from the opening of the forum at 9 a.m. to meet local industry professionals and interact with professional training organizations.

Gard has a high unemployment rate compared to the regional and national average: 9,8% au 2Andme quarter 2024 for Gard (8.7% in Occitania and 7.1% in mainland France).

Young people in priority neighborhoods in city politics are particularly affected by unemployment, while Gard business and industry leaders struggle to find candidates.

In partnership with the France Travail du Gard agency, the local mission of Nîmes, training and temporary employment organizations as well as the main employers of the Gard industry came together for this employment forum.

The State supports this forum with 10,700 euros.
