Ranked at 10e place in D1 women after the stages of Fréjus and Metz and at the 8e place in men’s D2 after that of Metz, the Triathlon Club Châteauroux Métropole 36 expects the Gironde meeting on Saturday June 29 to allow it to regain a few positions in the general classification.

“We are very clearly going there to improve our first results, summed up the president-coach-driver Pascal Lorry on Friday, during the journey to Bordeaux. Of course, once again, the teams are being profoundly reshuffled, but that will have no impact on the cohesion of the collective!

A constantly renewed workforce

Among the girls, exit the Czech Michaela Sterbova and the Portuguese Madalena Amaral Almeida, leaders on the first stages. This time, room is made for the Englishwoman Chloé Dooley and the Dutchwoman Maaike Vooren, who are rather accustomed to duathlon. “The training often changes, but it is not a decision on our part. Only when triathletes are selected by their federation for international competitions, we can only endure this situation,” completes Pascal Lorry who considers that the promoted “are on track for maintenance”.

The men’s team has also undergone changes to rely on the Englishman Niall Caley, the Swede Oscar Lilja and the Australian Luc Schofild, with three French players completing the squad (Lucas Taveau, Killian Lorry, Édouard Coulaud). As for the women, the three French players in the game will be Lisa Charron from Châteauroux, Amandine Piquet from Limoges and Léa Jacquin from Lyon.

“The rolling course, whether on the cycling part or the running part”, should suit us, assures the multi-tasking coach who hopes to return to Indre with a big smile.

This Saturday, June 29 at Bordeaux-Lac; 9:30 a.m., women’s D1 event; 2 p.m., men’s D2 event.
