FC Rouen – “It’s pissing me off”: Maxime D’Ornano devastated by administrative demotion to N2

After weeks of suspense, anxiety and hard work for its new shareholders, FC Rouen was unfortunately unable to convince the DNCG to continue its adventure in National and was administratively demoted this Thursday 06/27! The guarantees provided by the Turkish buyers did not convince the financial policeman that the club’s budget would hold up for the coming financial year. The coach Maxime D’Ornano, who had to stay despite the requests to be able to pass his BEPF diploma (training for which he was admitted in 2024-2025), cannot believe it. He expressed his incomprehension and disappointment in the columns of the Paris-Normandie newspaper, which nevertheless wrote that there was still a small chance of a continuation of the appeal.

“It’s a blow to the head. A blow to the head because the DNCG is always 50-50, especially in our case. I’m disappointed because Iwan (Postel) and his teams, in a very short time, have done a lot of work. Clearly, it wasn’t satisfactory for the DNCG. Now, I’m not sure that Mr. Postel will appeal (according to Paris-Normandie, the directors changed their minds this Friday, Editor’s note) and if he doesn’t, it will be bankruptcy. I’m thinking of all the FCR lovers because everyone believed in it and, now, on a decision, everything falls apart. I admit that it really pisses me off.”
