Machin is the new concept store which was established under the Cornières after being born in the mind of Lucie Montigny, a trained graphic designer and head of her own creative agency, located at the back of the store . “I wanted to combine the boutique, workshop and creative agency side,” explains the bubbly business manager. “I wanted a store filled with things, things, and as we often say at Machin when we talk about something we bought, I told myself I was going to call my business Machin.”
And indeed, there are lots of “cool things and things” there! Everything is carefully chosen by Lucie, with fun connotations and lots of “pop” colors. “I choose products that I like because it’s complicated to sell things that we don’t like,” Lucie philosophizes. “There, they are only creators with whom I share common values and objects that I like! » And it is complicated, at Machin, not to be amused or seduced by the products offered: fun and pop little pins, original watches, pieces of furniture or decoration from the Danish brand Hay, neon lights but also stationery, beautiful posters and even greeting cards that are both funny and stylish, a veritable Ali Baba’s cave filled with little curiosities that are out of the ordinary and which, without fail, make for incredibly funny and fun gift ideas. “I wanted to offer things that couldn’t be found elsewhere. For example, with great Japanese stationery, the Félicie brand too and its objects with funny messages like “hello lazy” mugs or birthday cards, Q candle holders from upcycled bottles…”
Custom embroidery
In addition to this wide choice for her decoration, gifts and others, Lucie Montigny also offers a single embroidery service. “We can come with an existing pattern or we can do the whole graphic design part together since this is my core business,” explains Lucie. “For example, I had orders with the initials of family members for the development of a logo that was embroidered on t-shirts. We can make cool gifts in embroidery!” Lucie also offers customization on many media thanks to laser cutting: water bottles, key rings, bookmarks and many others. Creative and bubbly, all ideas are good for Lucie who does not lack them either!
