A 58-year-old drunk driver caused several accidents between Bourisp and Vielle-Aure on June 25 in the Hautes-Pyrénées.

Lucky are those who crossed his path without suffering the consequences. On June 25, a 58-year-old man, drunk while driving, caused a series of accidents from Bourisp to Vielle-Aure.
He had just left the parking lot of a shopping center when, a few hundred meters further, he knocked down a woman who was walking along the road. Miraculously, she escaped unharmed from the accident. The driver, meanwhile, continued on his way without bothering to stop to help her.
Dumbfounded witnesses
It didn’t take long for the driver to cause another accident. 200 metres after knocking down the pedestrian, he hit a dump truck parked on the side of the road.
A collision which damaged his car according to stunned witnesses who witnessed the scene, but which he obviously did not realize. Again, he continued on his way as if nothing had happened.
Finally, it was in the center of Vielle-Aure that his bumper car game ended when he went head-on into the wall of a bridge.
Alerted to the presence of this public danger on the roads, the gendarmes of the Vignec brigade proceeded to arrest him. Subjected to the breathalyzer, the man had a level of 0.8 g of alcohol in his blood at 11:30 a.m.
In police custody, he assured the police that he had no memory of the accidents he caused on his way.
The driver will, however, have to explain it to the Tarbes courts next September.
