The prefect of Landes strongly condemns the damage committed by members of the Rural Coordination this Wednesday evening, November 20 on the MSA and DDTM sites in Mont-de-Marsan. These acts are unacceptable and harm the agricultural cause.

The prefect of Landes expressed her strong condemnation of the damage that occurred in Mont-de-Marsan this Wednesday, November 20, involving members of the Rural Coordination. These acts, targeting the premises of the Mutualité Sociale Agricole (MSA) and the Departmental Directorate of Territories and the Sea (DDTM), were described as unacceptable by the State representative, who underlines that they seriously harm to the agricultural cause that the authors say they defend.

The damage noted included illegal dumping in front of the MSA premises, while an arson attack was started within the DDTM premises. These incidents mobilized law enforcement and firefighters to guarantee the safety of places and people, a commitment welcomed by the prefect.

A complaint filed

In response, the latter announced that a complaint would be filed and that steps would be taken to obtain reimbursement of the costs necessary to repair the damaged premises. Furthermore, she reiterated her unfailing support for the agents of the MSA and the DDTM, collateral victims of these acts of vandalism.

This call to order is accompanied by a thank you to the security forces and firefighters for their responsiveness to these events. The prefect insists on the importance of favoring constructive dialogue in the defense of agricultural interests, rather than actions that endanger public services and social cohesion.

Local authorities now hope that this incident will remain isolated and are calling for collective responsibility to be taken within the framework of agricultural demands.
