The Girondins de Bordeaux (N2) will not host Les Herbiers (N2) at Matmut Atlantique for the 8th round of the Coupe de France. According to South West the Bordeaux club would have made the decision to relocate the match against the Vendéens, scheduled for Sunday 1is December (5 p.m.), in Talence (Gironde) for “financial reasons”.
Towards a match behind closed doors
Bordeaux had initially scheduled the meeting in its 42,000-seat den, hoping to face AC Ajaccio (L2) as their next opponent and to be able to obtain revenue from the poster. But the magical double from Herbretais Shelton Guillaume (90', 90'+5) in added time against the Corsicans (2-1) decided otherwise.

South West specifies that “the Bordeaux leaders calculated a “financial loss” if they played in their usual lair”. The match should therefore be played at the Pierre-Paul Bernard stadium in Talence, a few kilometers away and which can accommodate 1,250 seats and the same number with handrails. The trend would also be that of closed doors, as in the previous rounds against Poitiers (N3) and Bourges (N2).
