In Senegal, the national closing ceremony, organized on November 14 at the Sonatel headquarters, recognized the Agrokoom team as the big winner with its intelligent greenhouse project dedicated to soilless cultivation. This innovation, equipped with advanced automation, includes an automatic watering system, environmental monitoring, as well as plant diagnosis using a connected camera. The objective is to maximize agricultural yield while facilitating crop management.
For three months, participants benefited from tailor-made support thanks to experts from the code school, the FabLab Solidaire and Orange employees mobilized via the Engage for Change platform. Through cutting-edge training and mentoring sessions, young talents transformed their ideas into concrete prototypes, ready to take on today’s technological and environmental challenges.
Besides Agrokoom, three other projects stood out:
SEGG-ECHOTECH (2nd place): a wastewater filtration system for industrial companies, aimed at reducing pollution and ensuring ecological compliance.
ECO-WATT (3rd place): a smart electricity meter that optimizes household energy consumption thanks to recommendations based on artificial intelligence.
MAHINGO (4th place): a connected collar for livestock monitoring, allowing precise monitoring of animal health and better management of livestock.
