The Minister of Ecological Transition, Energy, Climate and Risk Prevention will travel to Chamonix-Mont-Blanc, in Haute-Savoie, Thursday November 21.
Expected in Chamonix-Mont-Blanc (Haute-Savoie), Thursday November 21, Minister Agnès Pannier-Runacher will announce a new plan for the prevention of glacial and periglacial risks, measures to protect glaciers and post-glacial ecosystems, as well as a strengthening of State support for mountainous territories. This notably echoes the National Plan for Adaptation to Climate Change (PNACC), announced by the Prime Minister, Michel Barnier, in Eveux after his trip to Givors on October 25.
The Minister of Ecological Transition, Energy, Climate and Prevention will be welcomed in the morning at the foot of the Brévent cable car, before participating in a round table around the melting of glaciers and the future of the mountain. A videoconference is also planned for the afternoon with the Climate Ambassador and the French delegation present in Baku (Azerbaijan), in order to take stock of the ongoing discussions at COP 29. As a reminder, it ends this Friday November 22.
