Vienna – A conference on the development of a multidimensional partnership between Morocco and Austria was organized on Wednesday in Vienna, at the initiative of the Moroccan Moroccan Millennium Leaders (MML) and Austrian Young Professional Network associations.
The holding of this event, in which several elected officials, economic operators, associative actors and academicians took part, is part of the commitment of Moroccan civil society in favor of the influence of the Kingdom among its European partners.
On this occasion, the president of the Dakhla Municipal Council, Erragheb Hormatallah, highlighted the economic potential of the southern provinces of the Kingdom, particularly that of the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region.
Mr. Hormatallah also estimated that the prospects for economic cooperation and investment between Morocco and Austria can reach their full potential, highlighting the economic opportunities and assets that the Kingdom abounds.
“Morocco has been experiencing major transformation and economic development for more than 25 years,” he underlined, recalling that the Kingdom has adopted a new generation Investment Charter, offering investors a unique opportunity , a reliable business environment.
Highlighting the shared desire of economic actors, the government and various stakeholders to be part of this dynamic, Mr. Hormatallah observed that the city of Dakhla constitutes an essential hub in different economic fields, such as tourism, renewable energies and aquaculture.
“Thanks to its air connectivity with several European countries, Dakhla is ready to continue to welcome investments from around the world,” he insisted.
For his part, Nico Marchetti, member of the Austrian National Council, deputy of the ÖVP, the ruling party, underlined the exceptional dynamic of relations between Morocco and Austria.
“We are not only improving the political dimension of our relations, but we are also working to strengthen the cultural and economic dimensions of ties between Austria and Morocco,” noted Mr. Marchetti, who welcomed the pioneering experience of the Kingdom in wind energy.
In this regard, he indicated that these efforts are capable of creating a framework conducive to even more solid collaboration between the two countries, emphasizing the importance of promoting the rapprochement of young leaders from both parties, in the aim of sharing ideas to build the future of the two nations.
For his part, the president of the MK Illumination SA Company, specializing in the manufacturing and design of projects, Thomas Mark, affirmed that this meeting offers a “tremendous opportunity” to build bridges between the two countries by focusing on innovation. and creativity, noting that “the solutions we build together will have a lasting impact in both Morocco and Austria”.
The president of the Chamber of Crafts of the Casablanca-Settat region, Jalila Morsli, highlighted the symbolic and strategic significance of bilateral cooperation, affirming that the partnership between Morocco and Austria “is the symbolism of a dialogue between two thousand-year-old civilizations”.
“Today, these are important bridges of cooperation which have been built thanks to the assistance of various actors,” she continued, noting that diplomatic, political, parliamentary, cultural and economic cooperation between the two countries continues. in a spirit of friendship.
She also called for seizing all opportunities to strengthen this strategic partnership, noting that “several European partners and elsewhere have understood what Morocco is: an ancient civilization and a reliable and essential partner in the continent. African and Mediterranean”.
Henri Louis Vedie, professor at HEC Paris and Senior Fellow at the Policy Center for the New South (PCNS), addressed the strategic partnership between Morocco and France, qualifying it as a European model of strategic cooperation.
“This partnership is much more than economic: it reflects a shared vision of solidarity between continents. Together, we can build a more just and resilient future,” he noted.
He also reviewed the potential and opportunities for investment in the Southern Provinces, within the framework of the new development model.
As for Mario Ralon, Commercial Director of the Austrian company KapschTrafficCom, leader in the intelligent mobility sector, he highlighted the business climate favorable to foreign investment in Morocco.
Mr. Ralon, an Austrian investor operating in Morocco, took this opportunity to review his company’s experience in road toll solutions, adding that the company wishes to support the Kingdom in the establishment of road infrastructure, notably during the next sporting events that Morocco will host.
This event, which took place in the presence of more than 80 figures from the Austrian political, economic and academic scene, made it possible to address essential themes such as energy, mobility, sustainable development and cultural exchanges.
