Last Friday, during the day, national police officers from Cahors, in the Lot, were on a surveillance mission in the town of Croix-de-Fer when they witnessed a scene which attracted their full attention.
As indicated by our colleagues from The Dispatchthe agents discovered a football in which there were two bags of cocaine. They then decide to wait and see if anyone tries to get the drugs. And it is. A young man of 20 years old grabbed the bags and fled when he saw the police. He is quickly caught.
From prison
Tried in immediate appearance, the defendant remains vague in his explanations and justifies his presence by indicating having been invited by a friend. As for his flight from the police, he simply explains that he was afraid. Faced with the small quantities of drugs found on him, around ten grams of cocaine, his lawyer insisted that it was impossible to know with certainty whether he intended to resell.
A requisition which was not followed by the court, unconvinced by the defendant's explanations. The latter was sentenced to six months in prison with continued detention. He is also banned from appearing on French territory for three years.
