The Alès Cévennes Camargue Song Grand Prix is getting ready… The organizers too!

For its 2024 edition, the Alès Cévennes Camargue Song Grand Prix is full of candidates, hoping for a festive final on August 23 in the Alès arenas.

After Flora Péréra who triumphed, in 2023, in the Tempéras arenas, in Alès, who will be the one who will be able to carry the laurels of victory in the Grand Prix de la Chanson Alès Cévennes Camargue 2024? This edition which will take on a particular color since its creator, Marcel Veau, has sealed his wedding with eternity. It is his widow who now chairs the institution, assisted by her daughter Marie-Jo Veyret for communications, and Lionel Pillods, for organization, and Yves Albaladejo, for treasury.

These last two specify: “This edition will follow the pattern of previous years, with visits to 24 towns, from Saint-André-de-Valborgne to Aigues-Mortes. More than a hundred candidates will participate in the various events in July and August They signed up in 48 hours… It’s great.” it is even more so since most come from all French regions, with candidates coming from Alès and Saint-Christol-lez-Alès. Regarding the presidency of the jury: “It will be the return of Bruno Berberes, casting director of the show The Voice, who came last year, for the final on August 23 in the arenas of Tempéras Alésien.”

As for the prize pool, it still remains at a good level, with €2,000 for the first prize, €1,200 for the second, €800 for the third, €600 for the fourth… Enough to encourage these young singers to persevere in this complex world of variety songs. “Especially since the registration of each candidate is free. It is the municipalities which finance the arrival of the Grand Prix on their territory.” In other words, a win-win for entrepreneurs and participants in this end-of-summer must-see.
