Belgian Cats strong winger Bethy Mununga will play next season at Araski, a club which plays in Vitoria-Gasteiz in Spain. She arrives after a brilliant season at Villeneuve d’Ascq. She was crowned champion of France and played in the Euroleague final.

Trained at the University of South Florida, Mununga (1m80), who will be 27 years old on July 22, revealed herself in the Romanian club Sepsi where she demonstrated qualities as a rebounder which allowed her to become an essential part of the squad of the Belgian Cats crowned European champions.

“She is a player who has great rebounding ability. Bethy Mununga is able to put the ball on the floor and has a good three-point shot. On the defensive side, she is able to defend players from different positions thanks to his intensity and his robustness Bethy is looking to join a team where his role is more important,” rejoiced his new coach Made Urieta.

Araski finished 12th out of 16 in Spain’s D1 championship, the Liga Femenina, last season.

In Villeneuve d’Ascq, under the leadership of Rachid Meziane, who is also the coach of the Belgian national team, Mununga only played 16 minutes on average and averaged 5.2 points and 3 rebounds.
