Ziguinchor, June 27 (APS) – A total of 1,063 patients benefited from free care and donations of medicines over two days during consultations organized in Ziguinchor by the 20th Chinese medical mission in Senegal.
The populations were consulted in several specialties such as ophthalmology, orthopedics, radiography, ENT, acupuncture, among others, explained the head of the Chinese medical mission in Senegal, Yang Yiguo, at the end of the days of voluntary consultations organized in the Ziguinchor health district commonly called “Ziguinchor silence hospital”.
“The Silence hospital in Ziguinchor has particular affinities with the Chinese medical mission. China sent the first Chinese medical mission to Ziguinchor in 1975,” recalled Yang Yiguo.
“We want to provide support to the populations of the Ziguinchor region,” he explained, specifying that eight specialized services were prepared during these two days of consultation.
The head of the Chinese medical mission in Senegal, Yang Yiguo, reported that a donation of medicines was also given to the Silence hospital.
“These free consultations with several specialists will provide relief to the populations of the Ziguinchor region. We thank the delegation of the Chinese medical mission,” reacted the head doctor of the Ziguinchor health district, Dr Boubacar Kandé.
A total of 20 medical missions were sent by China to Senegal.
They aim to promote a good image of the Chinese in Africa, contribute to the development of social services and participate in the deepening of Sino-African friendship.
