Following the hearing of representatives of the HAC management on June 12, and the transmission, since then, of the additional required documents, the National Management Control Directorate of the Professional Football League (DNCG) rendered its decision this Friday and imposed a framework for the club’s payroll, the latter indicated in a press release.

“An unsurprising announcement, a logical consequence of the double punishment inflicted on the HACreacts Le Havre AC, which has been warning for months about the injustice of the distribution of television rights for the 2023/2024 season. “Indeed, no one is unaware that the HAC is the only Ligue 1 club not to have benefited from the funds negotiated within the framework of the agreement with CVC which was intended in particular to consolidate and strengthen the clubs’ own funds. . The majority shareholder therefore had to replace this scandalous imbalance..

An injustice to which is added a new concern, which affects all Ligue 1 football clubs: no TV channel has yet purchased the broadcasting rights for the period 2024-2029. The Le Havre club fears being the first victim of this crisis: “the bad soap opera around TV rights dragging on, it is the whole of French football which is weakened, these revenues representing for French clubs in general and for the HAC in particular their main source of revenue.

Aware of the weakness of its budget, the HAC had nevertheless taken the lead in the decision of the DNCG and ensured that it was working “for several weeks building a workforce, guided by its budgetary situation”.
