Invested in the legislative elections, Edouard Jordan announces leaving the municipal majority of Carcassonne

While he is fully involved in the legislative race in the 1st constituency of Aude with Christophe Barthès, outgoing deputy of the National Rally, Edouard Jordan announced his withdrawal from the municipal majority of Carcassonne, this Thursday, June 27.

He did not call the elected representatives of the Carcassonne municipal council as usual this Thursday, June 27. And for good reason, Edouard Jordan spoke before the opening of the debates to announce that he was withdrawing from the municipal majority. “I am engaged in the fight for the legislative elections. I am drawing the consequences. I informed the mayor of this last week. And I thank him for these 10 years. I will now sit as a non-registered elected official.”

Mayor Gérard Larrat did not hide his disappointment in virtue “of all the hopes I had in you”. The first break came in October 2023 with the Rally to Rebuild movement in which Edouard Jordan participated with the outgoing RN deputy Christophe Barthes, for whom he became the deputy for these legislative elections. “I note that you are a substitute for a candidate who belongs to a political group that is in our opposition. If you had not made this decision, I would have asked you to do so” noted Gérard Larrat. “The majority group is affected. Everyone is free but political options must not affect us. This is our jurisprudence to preserve our unity”he concluded.
