For several days now, weather forecasters have been warning of a turbulent week in Brittany with repeated bad weather. At the heart of these, Thursday November 21, 2024 and a risk of snow, present in Côtes-d'Armor even if the location is still uncertain and varies a little depending on the forecasters. Attention, also on the day of Friday November 22 could start with ice.
Yellow snow-ice warning
Will snow fall in Côtes-d'Armor this November 21? It's possible, according to weather forecasters and it wouldn't be the first time so early in Brittany. Not so long ago, in 2018, several areas experienced a snowy episode on November 20.
This time, if Météo France has placed Côtes-d'Armor on yellow snow-ice alert on Thursday, November 21, from 5 a.m. to noon, we should not all be in the same boat.
Moreover, Météo France specifies today that “the exact trajectory of the depression will determine the areas affected by snow and strong gusts of wind. »
The wind will blow quite strongly on Thursday November 21 in the morning, 50 to 60 km/h in gusts, up to 70 on the Goëlo.
A Dinan-Guingamp line
According to current forecasts, it is above all the south of the department which should be affected by snow showers, particularly the Rostrenen and Uzel sectors, with temperatures not exceeding 1°C in the morning. The Uzel region could experience the heaviest snowfall.
However, according to Météo Bretagne forecasters, the risk of snow extends much further. It would go from the Broons-Plumaugat region in the east to Finistère in the west, along a Callac-Lamballe line in the north.
Mixed snow on the coasts
Beyond, on a Dinan-Gingamp line, the risk is lower but existing. The coasts should instead receive rain and mixed snow with temperatures of 3-4°C.
As temperatures approach 5°C in the afternoon, evening and during the night of Thursday 21 to Friday 22 Novemberthe risk of snow returns to the same regions.
As for the next day, Friday November 22, the south of Côtes-d'Armor will wake up to beautiful sunshine and temperatures around zero. We must therefore expect icy conditions. under a Broons-Callac line. The rest of the day will be more in line with a mid-November day with temperatures between 7 and 9°C.
