Various teams from the region were entered this weekend in the Swiss Cup. And both BBC Monthey and BBC Troistorrents did not get tripped up during these 1/8 finals.
The BBC Monthey-Chablais must have found the weekend very busy. After its defeat against Friborg Olympic on Saturday in the championship, the Sangliers were on the road again this Sunday to face Veyrier in the 1/8 finals of the Swiss Cup. Facing the Genevans, residents of the 1st League, the Bas-Valaisans easily won 101-51.
Also members of the Swiss Basketball elite, the BBC Troistorrents players have also experienced the joys of success. Emilie Duvivier’s girls won 34-87 against Zurich’s Wiedikon.
Vevey, Lavaux and Collombey-Muraz out
Other teams from the region have been on deck in recent days in the competition. The men of Vevey Riviera Basket lost 87-92 on Tuesday against the Fribourgeois de Villars. Friday evening, Union Lavaux Riviera was defeated 95-84 by Bären Kleinbasel. Finally, on Saturday, the women of BBC Collombey-Muraz (2nd League) were beaten 34-104 by Riva, a first division team.
