Spread over three years, the restoration of the south facade and the roof of the nave involved the total replacement of the slates, the revision of the framework, the cryogenic cleaning of the limestone facade, the consolidation degraded stones and the change of stained glass windows which were removed, cleaned and repaired in the workshop. All of the work was accompanied by archaeological monitoring to deepen our knowledge of the building in its long history.

To carry out this work on the building, numerous craftsmen have mobilized to safeguard this exceptional heritage. These companies specializing in heritage restoration are a source of economic vitality for the region and flagships of French excellence.

This last phase of the monumental project was entirely financed by the State to the tune of 4.15 million euros, including 3.3 million euros as part of the France Recovery plan. In 2025, the restoration of the interiors of the cathedral will begin.
