Niort represented the Poitou-Charentes region. The city stands out in front of the markets of Audruicq in Nord-Pas-de-Calais and Louhans in Burgundy. The Top 5 consists of Sedan in Champagne-Ardenne in 4th place and Céret, which represented Languedoc-Roussillon, 5th. The Villeneuve-sur-Lot market, in Aquitaine, finished 7th. Revel in Haute-Garonne, which wore the colors of Midi-Pyrénées, ranks 8th. Twenty-four candidates were in competition.
