The Niort market halls have been named the Most Beautiful Market in France!

“The most beautiful market” in France is that of the Niort market halls (Deux-Sèvres) according to the eight million voters who took part in this major competition organized by TF1. The results were revealed this Thursday, June 27, 2024 at 1 p.m.

The Halles market won this competition among 219 markets across France. It succeeds the market of La Réole.

The Niort Halles market is ahead of the Audruicq market (Pas-de-Calais) as well as the Louhans market (Saône-et-Loire). A team from TF1’s 1 p.m. news was present at the market this Thursday for the announcement of the results.

A market open from Tuesday to Sunday

The Halles de Niort market is taking place every day of the week except Monday and is the ideal place to find local specialties such as chabichou goat cheese, scofa or the famous Echiré butter.

Of many local producers are present every day on this market which is also a festive and friendly place which fully participates in the life of the city of Niort. In total, 60 traders are permanently present in the halls. Around fifty other stands are spread out outside the halls on Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays.
