On the site of the Château de Rogé, unprecedented Olympics between seniors from Agen, Villeneuve-sur-Lot and Marmande

This is a first in the department: Olympics for seniors from the four corners of Lot-et-Garonne. This Friday morning, the Rogé castle leisure center was transformed into a competition site. Each team, dressed in a t-shirt with the city image, completed several sporting events. On the starting line, the Maison des Aînés of Villeneuve-sur-Lot, but also the CCAS of Marmande, that of Agen and the Social Center of Sainte-Livrade.

These Olympics were set up at the initiative of the Maison des vins, a structure of the Municipal Social Action Center of Villeneuve-sur-Lot. A friendly competition, where seniors found something to challenge themselves through different disciplines: table tennis, archery, laser shooting, shot put, games of skill and canoeing in the afternoon, under the supervision of facilitators-referees. The competitors, aged 60 to 80, demonstrated speed, skill, precision, but also solidarity and team spirit.

Creating social bonds, encouraging sporting activity, developing sharing and cohesion, that was the whole meaning of these Olympics in the majestic setting of Rogé. They could also count on a few toddlers, having fun playing games, to encourage them!
