Members of the entertainment department of the City of Anglet, organizer of the free Nocturnes de la Chambre d’Amour concerts, scan the sky carefully. This is the law of all outdoor events, good weather is essential for perfect success.
For the rest, all the ingredients for a new success of this summer meeting are there. Like every year, the posters are attractive. They were last year with Pierre de Maere and Izia Higelin, in 2022 also, with Amir and the Négresses vertes (which we will see again on July 12, as part of the Bayonne Festival, Editor’s note), or even in 2021 with Skip the Use.
The 2024 edition also intends to appeal to a wide audience. This Friday, June 28, for the opening night, we will see Malo’, a young Franco-Australian singer, whose first album was co-produced by Jean-Louis Aubert. His second, “Life”, was released in September 2023.
Practical
To avoid parking and traffic difficulties around the Chambre d’Amour, the Txik Txak bus network will increase the frequencies of lines 34 and 32. For line 34, there will be buses every 40 minutes between 9 p.m. and 1:30 a.m., between the Chambre d’Amour and Minerva. For line 32, a 30-minute frequency will be set up between the Chambre d’Amour and Place des Basques, in Bayonne, between 9 p.m. and 1:30 a.m.
Please note that Avenue des Vagues will be closed to traffic from 6 p.m. for both evenings. As part of Vigipirate’s reinforced system, handbags, backpacks and other items will be searched at the entrance to the cave garden site; glass bottles and closed cans are prohibited.
Hervé the surfer
In the second part of the evening, Hervé will find himself facing an ocean that he knows well. He is a regular at the Golden Sands and Club Beach where he came to surf for many years. He will have the opportunity, during this opening concert, to expend his energy differently, not in the water, but on the stage of the cave garden of the Chambre d’Amour, which is also familiar to him.
Saturday June 29, the tandem formed by Manon and Julien, a couple from Haut-Savoyards united within 21 Juin Le Duo, a curious name they gave themselves, will perform in the first part.
Christophe Maé, who claims to have Bob Marley as his spiritual father, will be the highlight of this 2024 edition of the Nocturnes. His ninth album, “Life is funny”, was released in March 2023. Since then, he has been performing concerts. On July 24, 2022, he raised the Bayonne arenas. Since then, there has been his new album and again a series of fiery concerts, as that of the Chambre d’Amour must be.
The concerts will start on both evenings at 9pm, but will be preceded, from 8pm, by a DJ set. All this, of course, on the condition that the weather is favorable. The organizers are keeping their fingers crossed, with the intention of maintaining these two major events.
