Harnois Énergies positions itself with an avant-garde pilot project

SAINT-THOMAS, QC, June 26, 2024 /CNW/ – Harnois Énergies (HÉ) is proud to be the first company to introduce a hydrogen truck on the roads of Quebec. This vehicle from the manufacturer Nikola Corporation and provided by ITD Industries represents a big step forward for the transportation industry and will be tested for a month. This unique adventure opens the door to a future where hydrogen will have a place in the company’s energy portfolio.

The truck will operate on various roads across the province, allowing Harnois Énergies to test its efficiency and performance in real conditions. This pilot project is also an opportunity to demonstrate to the public and businesses the advantages of hydrogen as an alternative energy while participating in the decarbonization of heavy transport.

During this test period, the truck will be refueled with hydrogen from the only multi-energy station in Quebec located on Wilfred-Hamel Boulevard in Quebec City and belonging to Harnois Énergies.

In the summer of 2023, in partnership with the government of Quebec, Alstom and HTEC, Harnois Énergies contributed to the commissioning of the first green hydrogen passenger train in North America, all made possible thanks to the production station from Quebec.
