Neil Young interrupts his tour and cancels his visit to Ottawa

Young and his Crazy Horse were scheduled to perform at Ottawa Bluesfest on July 11. They will be replaced by the group The Offspring preceded by the groups Silverstein and Cancer Bats.

From what we have been able to learn, the tour The Love Earth Tour was interrupted after Young and his band visited the Pine Knob Theater in Detroit where all the members fell ill.

The nature of the disease is not specified, but we can assume the identity of the virus.

Putting his health and that of his team above all else, the 79-year-old Canadian made this difficult decision to impose a break on the tour.

“We still haven’t recovered so, unfortunately, we have to take this forced break,” writes the singer-songwriter on his website. We will try to fill in some dates we missed as soon as we are ready to rock again.”

The accompanying trio, Crazy Horse, consists of Ralph Molina on drums, Billy Talbot on bass and Micah Nelson on guitar.

Despite Young’s noble intentions, his visit to Ottawa, at least as part of Bluesfest, will be definitively canceled. We sincerely hope that this monument of Canadian folk rock will quickly return to health.

Still according to the artist’s website, no show date is scheduled before September 29, 2024.
