“And it goes on and on…”

The Ukrainian club Dnipro-1 is sinking. This is what its commercial director, Vyacheslav Fridman, announced in the Ukrainian media TaTotake this Thursday. “We must have the courage to recognize death,” he assumed. Fridman then commented on the economic situation of the former club Farès Bahlouli: “We have funds, but they will not be enough for the whole season. Yes, you can try to fight for a place in the European Cup, you can sell, but does fighting in agony have any meaning? It is easier to pay off debts and not suffer. It is easier to terminate the project without scandals and lawsuits, simply due to lack of funds. »

SK Dnipro-1 – founded in 2017 on the ashes of FK Dnipro on the verge of disappearance – finished vice-champion of Ukraine and played on 2e qualifying round of the Champions League in 2023, then qualified for the 2nd preliminary round of the Europa Conference League this year, with their fourth place in the championship. The club from the banks of the Dnieper was due to face Hungarians Puskás Akadémia FC at the end of July.
