Thunderstorms followed by heavy precipitation, this is what happened Wednesday June 26 at the end of the day. The Luppach river has burst its banks at Ferrette and Bouxwiller. The firefighters intervened, but the situation quickly improved.

Thunderstorms broke out in Alsace late Wednesday, June 26. In southern Alsace, heavy rain fell, causing significant runoff and mudslides.

Some roads were partially flooded as well as basement premises (cellars, garages, etc.) in Durmenach, Raedersdorf, Ferrette, Bouxwiller and Lutter.

The Haut-Rhin firefighters were called from 6:30 p.m. to help residents and empty the flooded basements. They intervened nine times.

The Luppach got out of his bed in Ferrette. A resident sent us this video of a completely flooded road:

In Durmenach, the Niesbach burst its banks, several roads were flooded and the electricity was cut for several hours on Wednesday evening, it was restored at 3 a.m. Thursday morning. A cut was again necessary on Thursday morning, this time to carry out some work on the line, which was battered by bad weather.
