MONTREAL – A sport utility vehicle (SUV) that failed to stop after hitting a pedestrian in Montreal on Wednesday evening is still being sought by metropolitan police officers on Thursday morning. The life of the man who was hit is no longer threatened, but the investigation continues to find the vehicle involved in this hit-and-run.

Around 11 p.m. Wednesday evening, the person driving the SUV allegedly forgot to make his obligatory stop at the corner of avenue Dubuisson and rue des Ormeaux, in the Tétreaultville district, and hit a 30-year-old man.

The latter had to be taken to hospital to treat serious injuries. Thursday morning, the City of Montreal Police Department could confirm that he was out of danger at the hospital center.

For his part, the person driving the SUV did not stop after the collision. Investigators from the Montreal police force are therefore continuing their investigation to find this person and their vehicle, which is believed to be dark in color.

A security perimeter had been set up at the intersection where the collision took place, but it was lifted after a few hours.

However, the investigation is continuing in this matter.
