checks carried out on school transport by EDSR gendarmes

An initiative put in place since September. This Tuesday November 19the Tarn-et-Garonne gendarmerie indicated that, control operations were carried out on school busesat the initiative of members of the Departmental Road Safety Squadron (EDSR).

Checking multiple criteria

According to information communicated by the police, several criteria are verified by the ESDR gendarmes. Bus compliance, mandatory safety features (fire extinguishers, ice-breaking hammers, etc.), driver aptitude but also wearing a seat belt by the young Tarn-et-Garonnais students, everything is combed through during these actions.

Around twenty operations (already) carried out

In order to best ensure the safety of children, members of the EDSR have already carried out “around twenty operations throughout the territory“, the Tarn-et-Garonne gendarmerie wanted to clarify this Tuesday.

And while some bus drivers have yet to receive a visit from law enforcement, it should only be a matter of days since “these preventive actions will be renewed throughout the entire school year.”
