What to do for free during Lorient Océans?

Children up to 12 years old can have free access to all activities (excluding Louane concert, free for under 8s, and boarding at sea). A fun space is dedicated to them, for three days, at La Base (Friday from 11 a.m., Saturday-Sunday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Village quai Glorieux and Village Papin). Young sailors will be able to try their hand at treetop sailing, like skippers who climb the mast, exercise in an inflatable galleon, discover gliding on a skimboard track… Wooden games, face painting and introduction to diving are also in the program.

  • 2 The Great Parade visible from the coast

This is one of the highlights of the festival: the Great Boat Parade will set off on Sunday June 30, at 2 p.m., through the harbor of Lorient. For an hour and a half, heritage and working boats will parade alongside classic yachts, like the Bélougas, and legendary ships, like Pen Duick 3. A show designed to be visible (for free) from all the towns in the harbor!

  • 3 Access to the village is free… but the activities are reserved for Sloop owners

If access to the main festival village, the thematic villages, the fun area and the concerts (except Louane) is free, most of the activities and initiations are reserved for holders of the Sloop, the souvenir key ring valid for three days (€8). This is the case for introductions to paddle boarding, dinghy sailing and kayaking, at Quai du Why-Pas, and guided tours of the K3 block and Lorient harbor with Escal’Ouest. However, visiting the offshore racing center is free, as are the SNSM demonstrations (Friday-Sunday, 4 p.m.) or rescue dogs (Saturday-Sunday, 11:30 a.m., 4:30 p.m.).

  • 4 The harbor in celebration

The Coureaux Festival at Larmor-Plage (Saturday, from 10:30 a.m., Pointe des Blagueurs), the return from the harbor to Hennebont (Thursday, at 7 p.m., at the pontoon), the Port Festival at Locmiquélic (Saturday, from 8 a.m. to midnight, in Sainte-Catherine) and the port of Pointe en fête in Port-Louis (Saturday and Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.): the harbor is not left out during Lorient Océans! All events are free and open to all.

The Santa Maria Manuela will stop in Lorient for the festival. You can get on board during the Grand Parade on Sunday for… €175. With free buffet!

  • 5 Admire the boats without boarding

They are the stars of Lorient Océans! For four days, the harbor of Lorient will welcome many old rigs into its ports. Embarking for two to three hours of navigation is possible, but you must pay a ticket (€36 to €42 adult, €26 to €32 child). Visiting them at the dock is reserved for Sloop holders, subject to availability. All that remains is to admire them from the pontoons, a free spectacle but no less impressive!
