Three days of workshops in priority neighborhoods of La Rochelle are offered by “Sirène” and “Opus” this week. The first Tuesday in Mireuil, the second Wednesday in Port-Neuf and the last this Thursday in Villeneuve-Les-Salines. Music creation workshops, to promote the local creation of neighborhood residents. Free workshops, open to all people who want to try rap.
A writing workshopwith Greg, an artist from Saint-Ouen who came to share his advice. “Basically, I teach them the basics of writing, measures, placements, rhythms. Once they have the basics, they see what they want to do, they write a short text, if they have need help, they come back to me as soon as it’s good, they make a production, and they record in the trailer.”

A beatmaking workshop also, with Amaz in front of a computer to find musical bases, loops, and then add lyrics. “We are computer musicians, we produce rappers, with drum machines. Rap has opened up so much that finding a new sound is possible.”

“I love music… I get up in the morning for it”
At his side, Florian drinks in his words. “I’m passionate, I’m a young rapper from La Rochelle and Niort, I love it, music, it’s what drives me. I get up in the morning for that.”
And in the caravan, a composition and recording workshop. Last passage, with a microphone recording. Donald, one of the local residents, already has the “wave” for an Afrobeat R’n’B composition with two of his friends.

After these workshops, a general restitution will be presented this Thursday at 7 p.m. on the Sirène stage at La Pallice. The “Tsuvo” caravan will then leave for the Ile d’Oléron, to the Pose Ta Prose festival, June 28 and 29 at the Ardoise theater in Dolus d’Oléron.
