The Society of Members of the Legion of Honor of Lot held its annual meeting on November 15, 2024 in Gourdon. After paying tribute to the six members who died since the previous meeting, the president Christiane Bouat and the treasurer Monique Martignac presented the moral and financial report to the legionnaires visibly happy to be reunited. Warmly thanking the office gathered quarterly to lead the numerous projects, the cantonal delegates who bring solidarity to life in favor of the oldest members, C. Bouat does not forget the young and less young standard bearers present during patriotic demonstrations, in particular those linked in 2024 to the 80th anniversary of The Liberation. She salutes the constructive intergenerational bond established through two of the section's strongest interventions: the departmental and then national prize for Apprentices and the support provided by more than ten legionnaires through the “Un Avenir Ensemble” system. She is pleased that a path of excellence in professional training is therefore promoted, that the social elevator is relaunched for high school students and then deserving, voluntary scholarship students. Madam Prefect had also encouraged on June 14 all these young people who are a promise. She mentions the conferences and visits organized in various places in the department, the relationships established with organizations such as the ONACVG, the Museum of the Resistance, of the Deportation, of the Lot soon to be reopened or other honorary or memorial institutions. The list is not exhaustive. Reports unanimously approved, meeting closed, members (and accompanying persons returning from a visit to the surprising Château de Lantis in Dégagnac) shared a friendly lunch with Madame Amel Tir, sub-prefect, and Mr. Jean-Marie Courtin, mayor of Gourdon.
