They are demanding the immediate recruitment of 34 of their colleagues placed on the complementary list following the results of the recruitment competitions.
They missed the competition, but only just. In the Nancy-Metz academy, 34 school teachers have been placed on a complementary list, which should allow them to still access a position at the start of the next school year. “This is an old claim, to which we are strongly attached” explains Matthieu Risse, from the SNUDI-FO 57 union, “in January 2022 Minister Blanquer had promised the tenure of those registered on the complementary lists throughout France, but we had to wait until the spring for everyone to actually be so“.
Since then, at each start of the school year, the union puts back the pressure so that the promise is renewed. With success since, according to him, the Ministry of National Education committed to it again on Friday June 21, 2024. But time is running out for those interested, who do not know what tomorrow will bring. Will the new government announced keep the promise of its predecessor? Nothing is less certain for teachers and their supporters: “We are simply asking that our colleagues be able to be tenured from next week so that they can prepare for their return to school in the best conditions.“specifies the SNUDI-FO, which was received on Wednesday morning by the general secretary of the academy inspection.”We were told that the order to recruit had not been given” sighs Matthieu Risse, “we know that the profession is experiencing a vocations crisis, there, we have valid and motivated candidates, we must secure them, especially since there is a shortage of teachers in certain sectors of the Moselle“.
For one of the teachers concerned, Marie Cencetti, the wait is painful: “I’m second on the list, so I hope I get a start. But I have no guarantee… I had been on contract for two years at Yutz, but as the position I held was filled through the competition, I no longer have a job“. The young woman, originally from Cattenom, was taking the exam for the second time. This summer, she will not be going on vacation: “I simply can’t afford it“.
