A handful of fruit growers from Bourg-lès-Valence, Saint-Marcel-lès-Valence, Châteauneuf-sur-Isère and Alixan went to the Intermarché in Bourg-lès-Valence to denounce the unfair competition from peaches and nectarines of Spanish origin, this Wednesday, June 26 at 9 a.m.

They spontaneously returned to the store, deploring in particular that foreign fruits, sold alongside fruits of French origin, were still being ordered even though the season had started in France and around 7,000 tonnes of peaches and nectarines were already waiting in the fridges of French farmers to be sold.

They were heard, since the store director promised to order first French prices the same day from the Donzère distribution platform.

The store is the only one to have been singled out by FDSEA farmers, who say they have visited the hypermarkets and supermarkets in the Valence area.
