On Saturday June 29, 2024, the Guy Kappès gymnasium in Lagny-sur-Marne will be completely transformed… For the very first time, a wheelchair boxing match is integrated into the main programme of a boxing gala. A great step forward! This initiative is inspired by the recent World Athletics Championships where disabled races were integrated into the competitions for able-bodied athletes. “Our goal is to promote disabled boxing and women’s boxing during busy times, when the gym is full. For this, we decided to schedule a wheelchair handiboxing fight just before the last fight. This will allow the public to better understand disabled sport and fully appreciate women’s boxing.” You will have understood, if you come to watch this match, you will be treated to a real atmosphere worthy of a football match!
