A festive and inclusive gala. On Saturday June 29, 2024, the Guy Kappès gymnasium in Lagny-sur-Marne will be completely transformed… For the very first time, a wheelchair boxing match is integrated into the main programme of a boxing gala. A great step forward! This initiative is inspired by the recent World Athletics Championships where disabled races were integrated into the competitions for able-bodied athletes. “Our goal is to promote disabled boxing and women’s boxing during busy times, when the gym is full. For this, we decided to schedule a wheelchair handiboxing fight just before the last fight. This will allow the public to better understand disabled sport and fully appreciate women’s boxing.” You will have understood, if you come to watch this match, you will be treated to a real atmosphere worthy of a football match! Don’t want to miss the event? Book your place now.

The highlight of the show? The fight between Khalil El Hadri and Juan Félix Gomez. Do you like sports and boxing? Here, you are served! “The super feather fight between Khalil El Hadri and Juan Félix Gomez promise to be of great intensitybecause they are among the three best boxers in the world in their category. The winner of this match will have the opportunity to fight for the world title and claim to become world champion.” A prospect that will generate great excitement in the room, especially if the winner is a boxer from the Île-de-France region. Behind this beautiful organization, we find a dynamic and committed association: BAM L’Héritage. “BAM L’Héritage means Boxing Association Les Mureaux and L’Héritage. Before, there was another association which was also called Boxe Association Les Mureaux and BAM L’Héritage continues this work. Famous boxers like Tony Yoka were part of this association and boxed with it.” A renowned association to organize an event that promises to be unforgettable… A great legacy!

  • The organization of this gala was made possible thanks to the support of numerous partners: the region, the department and the town of Lagny-sur-Marne (led by its mayor Jean-Paul Michel). The support of local elected officials underlines the importance of this event for the promotion of equal opportunities in sport.

An intergenerational evening around the beautiful values of sport. This gala will not only be a series of fights, but a real celebration for the entire community. “We will also invite people with cognitive disabilities and children. We want it to be a party for everyone. Last time, all profits were donated to an association called Admirable. This association greatly helps children with cognitive and motor disorders. When we went to talk to them, the children, who are usually very reserved, came to see us, including Mr. Léopold, the director of the gala. They were very happy that we were thinking of them and that’s why we can’t wait for this fight to take place.” By integrating disabled boxing and promoting women’s practice… The Boxing Gala in Lagny is positioned as a pioneering event in the world of sport. This gala is much more than a series of fights, it is one more step towards a society where everyone, regardless of their abilities, can find their place and flourish in sporting activity.

The BAM L’Héritage Boxing Gala? It embodies the values of the noble art: respect, courage and inclusiveness. See you Saturday in the ring of the Guy Kappès gymnasium! Reserve your seats now.
