Organized for fiction lovers of all kinds, the Afictionados festival will take place at the University of Nîmes this Friday, June 28.

Created to highlight the achievements of the students of the Fiction master’s degree, it is also an opportunity to bring together teachers, students and professionals from the cultural and creative industries (ICC).

A discovery of the Master and its achievements

Existing for 4 years, the Afictionados festival will be held for the third consecutive year on the Vauban site. The objective of this event is to introduce the general public to the uniqueness of this training. On the program for the day, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., the show Afictionados, on the Twitch channel of the University of Nîmes, presented by Tom Servière and Dodo Adom. For an hour, professional guests, students and teachers from the Master Fiction will look back on the projects carried out during the year. With Hélène Sellier, narrative designer, HIC master’s teacher, Alex Concheri, game and narrative designer and Clémence Gueidan, narrative designer, escape game scriptwriter.

A short film festival

Then, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., discovery of the creative work of students (event open to the public) in the Bulle and at the University Library: with Valentine Flork for the release of her novel by Loreleï editions (M1 2023 project) ; Léa Larguier (duplex from the comic book fair), presentation of her manga Death Master (M2 project); Ginevra Puggioni: visual novel to come and try on stand (M1 project) Mélina Vuillaumier: presentation of her little book produced with Géoproject at the Carré d’art (M2 course); Hugo Bourdigal, Igor Holfert, Julie Agro for the radio fiction SatireÔSort, activities and games around this offbeat universe (M2 collective project). But also Fanny Grellier for the web series “Mélanie en Occitanie”. Or a look back at the Printemps des Arts Festival (M1 collective project).

At 4 p.m., ceremony of the “48 hours is too short” event in the auditorium of the Vauban site. A short film festival organized by Unîmes students, open to the public. Finally, there will be a presentation of the Master Fiction which trains professionals from the creative industries in the field of fiction and narration through a common core of research seminars and writing and creation workshops which explore in an interdisciplinary manner all aspects of contemporary productions. Bilingual training (French and English) over two years, which also involves several compulsory internships.
