The Flash of La Courneuve takes a stand against the National Rally!

D1 Elite – The most successful American football club in France, Flash de La Courneuve, has published a press release to oppose the National Rally.

This weekend of June 29-30 will be marked by two important news for lovers of American football in France: the D1 Elite final, the famous Diamond Helmet which will be held in Perpignan (information which is very important, we will come back to it ), but also the first round of the legislative elections in France. Two events in which the Flash of La Courneuve decided to be involved.

The Flash against “ideas that call into question the future of our country”

It is therefore in a press release published this Tuesday late afternoon on the social networks of the Ile-de-France team that the president of Flash de La Courneuve, François Leroy, explained the firm and determined opposition of the sports association in the face of the ideas advocated by the National Rally which is currently at the top of the polls a few hours before the first round of the legislative elections.

According to the leaders of Flash, the party led by Marine Le Pen and Jordan Bardella “has ideas that call into question the future of our country and the European balance. » A press release which also does not hesitate to talk about ideas of xenophobia or racism. But perhaps more importantly, this press release from the most successful club in the French D1 Elite championship calls on club lovers to vote massively this Sunday during the legislative elections in order to beat the National Rally.

A final in Perpignan which is disturbing

But why did La Courneuve’s Flash make the sudden decision to enter the political spectrum? The answer is simple and comes down to a decision by the French American Football Federation: to relocate the 28th Diamond Helmet to the city of Perpignan. A city which since the last municipal elections has been held by… elected officials from the National Rally!

For a few moments, the players and leaders of the Flash de La Courneuve considered the possibility of “not showing up to play the D1 Elite final” in order to show their disagreement with the political party which holds the controls in the city of welcome to the final. But ultimately, the Flash will be present against their “friendly rivals the Black Panthers” for this final which will take place on Saturday evening.

A Saturday in which we will therefore be entitled to sport before politics takes over again just after the final whistle.
