They stack up national titles every year and still enjoy playing volleyball. Former or current players of ASPTT Laval (Mayenne), the six girlfriends
have once again won the French women’s cup.
“It’s number 3e year in more than 45 years that we have been champions”
, declares Karine Suhard, one of the pillars of this team. A former professional player, she is accompanied by Nathalie Esmelin, Magali Haroune, Françoise Lecourt, Pascaline Cousseau and Hélène Lochu, some of whom have played at national level 2.
Setting an example for younger generations
We didn’t necessarily play together, but we were lucky that Nathalie Bouleau (former president of the ASPTT) brought us together.”
explains Karine Suhard. To always be at the top, and continue to play at national level, their secret is simple: Have fun, whatever your age

Their maturity and effective attacking play allowed them to once again be at the top of the podium. I had great feelings playing with a motivated team

The ASPTT club, recognized for its training of young people, can also pride itself on being a club which retains the talent of its practitioners. We are happy that the club is making room for veterans,”
laughs Nathalie Esmelin. Accomplices on and off the field, the six friends are enjoying this new title. We don’t worry, we make the most of it and we win.
They are already dreaming of a fourth title next year. We are still lucky enough to be able to participate in a national competition despite the aches and pains.
