The 2024 French Masters shortboard championships in Anglet

The 2024 French Masters shortboard championships will be held from August 28 to September 1 at the Sables d’Or spot in Anglet (Atlantic Pyrenees). Six places will be up for grabs for the 2024 Masters World Championships, which will take place in El Salvador from October 18 to 24.

After Seignosse last year, it is Anglet which will be the scene of the French Masters shortboard championships this year. The competition will be held in parallel with the French Open for hopefuls counting for the Banque Populaire Surf Tour, organized from August 28 to September 1.
The success of this event which brings together more than a hundred competitors from all over France, and in particular ex-professional surfers, cannot be denied with each edition. It should be even more so this year since these championships will qualify for the ISA World Masters (October 18-24) in El Salvador. Six places: 3 men and 3 women (i.e. 1 man and 1 woman per age category) will be put into play to constitute the team which will represent France at these Worlds, the last edition of which was held in 2013 in Ecuador.
For this reason, the categories of the French championships are adapted to those of the international federation to allow better readability.
