Media, associations and unions have collectively called for a new rally against the far right this Thursday, June 27 from 6 p.m. at Place de la République. “Together, let’s block the road to the RN” they wrote, three days before the first round of the legislative elections.

More than a hundred independent media, associations and unions are calling for a new rally “against the extreme right” and for freedoms, this Thursday, June 27 in Paris, three days before the first round of the legislative elections.

“Together, let’s block the road to the RN”, write the organizations behind this call for a rally from 6 p.m. on Place de la République, including media like Politis, Mediapart and Streetpress, unions like the CFDT, the CGT or the Magistrates’ Union, and associations including Attac and the Human Rights League (LDH).

Streamed, the gathering will be accompanied by concerts and speeches.

250,000 people mobilized in France

Last Sunday, tens of thousands of people marched in Paris and elsewhere in France to denounce the “danger” for women’s rights that an RN victory would represent.

The previous Saturday, parades against the far right at the call of the unions had brought together between 250,000 people in France, according to the authorities, and 640,000 according to the CGT, including 75,000 to 250,000 in Paris.
