Street shows, weekly village, highlights, sporting and cultural events… The City has put together a multi-generational program to occupy summer days and evenings.

For 8 years, both in terms of town planning and in terms of its events and activities, the City of Saint-Nazaire has turned towards its coastline to reveal all its facets and attractions to its inhabitants. The appointment Saint-Nazaire Beach Side, an integral part of this overall project, was born from this work and promotes summer after summer different must-see places on the coast, inviting residents to experience the joy of vacations, the taste of the sea and relaxation just a stone’s throw from home. . The 8th edition of Saint-Nazaire Côté Plages remains faithful to this vision, and will take up residence in popular spots from July 1 to September 1. All shows, workshops and activities (with the exception of the nautical base courses) will be free this summer.

What’s new for 2024

15 City departments are hard at work preparing for this now traditional meeting in July and August. And each year brings its share of new features in order to meet the expectations of residents. A budget of 250 000 euros is dedicated this year to the event, which will present 22 street shows, 17 highlightset 3 cultural exhibitionset 160 participatory activities and workshops. These, organized with local clubs and associations, will be completely free this year. Yoga sessions on the beach are yours! Another new feature is that cultural, sporting and natural activities will be concentrated in a dedicated village which will travel every week and will be run by a seasonal worker recruited by the City. These villages will sail from July 10, between the Grande Plage, the Skatepark, Villès-Martin beach, Monsieur Hulot beach, and for the first time on Courance beach. As for activities, we will find the great classics which are always full, but also some new arrivals with activities for little ones (from 3 years old), or even a demonstration of precision parachute jumping on the Place du Commando with the SNOS Parachutisme (July 31). The location of the library and the games library will be slightly offset, with structures provided with shade to protect them from the sun (or rain).

Street shows

3 times a week From July 5, residents or visitors will be able to spend their evenings outdoors attending music, circus, theater and comedy shows. They will be offered at 8:15 p.m. on Wednesdays on the Monsieur Hulot esplanade, Fridays on the Grande Plage at Place du Commando, and on Saturdays in turn in different districts of the city. Mark your calendars now inaugural show on July 5, in the form of a spectacular musical stroll resembling a dance of the sun and summer. THE closing show on August 30 will also be particularly worth the detour, with its dizzying giant swing measuring 8 meters wide.

The highlights and unmissable moments of summer

There will be no shortage of highlights to spice up the summer, and will make you regret having gone on vacation: inaugural show on July 5, Passion Sport Littoral and its free introductions to water activities at the base of the skatepark on July 6, dance of firefighters on the evening of July 6, fireworks show on July 13 at Place du Commando, and August 10 in Saint-Marc-sur-Mer, games village on August 10 and 11, Les Escales, or even Ronde des Douaniers on July 28. Culture will not be forgotten with 3 remarkable exhibitions: Power Up at the Grand Café, Starting Block at Life, and the Cargo photographic journey. Finally, the night markets of Saint-Marc-sur-Mer will be held this summer on Wednesdays from July 17 from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m., and the nautical base will resume its courses from July 8.
