A 17-year-old young man was shot and killed this Sunday, November 17, 2024 afternoon during a fight in Rumilly, in Haute-Savoie, the prosecution said.
“Several young people took part in a fight in the city center” this Sunday, November 17, 2024 afternoon and one of them, aged 17, was killed “by firearm”specified the prosecution, confirming information from the Dauphiné Libéré. The events took place around the Place d’Armes.
20-year-old man seriously injured
Another 20-year-old man was seriously injured and taken to Annecy hospital. “His vital prognosis is in jeopardy”underlined the prosecution. No arrests took place “at this stage”according to him.
The mayor of Rumilly, Christian Dulac, says he “very shocked” by this drama at the microphone of France bleu: “For a mayor, it’s complicated to experience things like that, we see in the media things happening in other municipalities and one day it happens in ours, we are not immune”.
“We do not yet know the reasons for this brawl, but in any case, there is no reason to jeopardize the lives of these young people,” he added.

The flagrant murder investigation was entrusted to the research section of the Chambéry gendarmerie.
