IDominique de Witte likes the word “atypical”. And he is. The Reconquest candidate! in the 7e district of Gironde (Pessac, Gradignan, Cestas, Canéjan) belongs to the Belgian nobility at the rank of squire, obtained a landscape gardening diploma, resumed law studies at over 40 “to pass the bar”, composes, performs and also records his own pieces of music… And here he is now involved in the legislative race on behalf of Reconquête. “I don’t consider myself extreme right,” says the neo-politician, barely installed, on the terrace of the Café Lyrique in Gradignan.
Nobility of dress
“Here, it’s still preserved. On immigration, the establishment of Islam, I mean. In Pessac, it’s different. » 42 years old, with well-combed hair, a leather briefcase placed at his feet, Dominique de Witte looks like the top of the class. The frank smile, the eyes that speak… The activist uses the elements of party language. Shocking formulas and well-trained rhetoric, he skillfully multiplies quotations in Latin to talk about his “values” and his “principles”. “Loyalty” too. Not like Marion Maréchal, who “certainly joined the family clan” by “betraying Reconquest”, sighs the Zemmourist.
In January 2024, Dominique de Witte released the song “Pas woke”. A three-minute solo single, with acoustic guitar as a bonus. One more title, which the descendant of the Belgian nobility also displays on his social networks. If the brand new candidate warns that it is in no way a product labeled Reconquest, the words, however, resemble in every way the program of the far-right party. Theory of the great replacement – which he assumes, “I have no problem with that” –, anti-“LGBT lobby”… It’s all there.
“I took my guitar and I wrote that in two hours,” assures the candidate singer, who describes a need to talk about society and his personal concerns. “As an artist, I am like a sponge. I take everything that is around me. » In “Pas woke”, Dominique de Witte hums: “They replace us with those who come by sea”, “They touch our villages/The churches and the wise men/Destroy our landscapes”, “You are not a man but a woman thanks to hormones.”

She doesn’t consider herself far-right either. In this same 7e “circo”, Clémence Naveys-Dumas was invested by the National Rally. A party in which she has been active since she was 16, and it was not, against all expectations, that long ago. “I was born in 2006,” smiles the high school student. Presented as a “student” on the official party lists, the young Girondine has in reality just completed her high school diploma. “I got my baccalaureate results this morning (Thursday June 20, Editor’s note). It’s a technological baccalaureate, it was before the start of the campaign,” specifies the main interested party.

Also riding on social anger and the latest results favorable to his party, to try to win one more constituency.
Aid for first-time candidates
At Reconquête, an application has been developed to organize field campaigns. With “Vulcain”, the objective is simple: to facilitate the procedures for activists who have recently become candidates. And above all, don’t dissuade anyone. No internal platform at the National Rally. For her express commitment in the electoral sphere, Clémence Naveys-Dumas explains that she is only helped by party executives.
