On the occasion of the “summer” session of the Deux-Sèvres departmental council, the community looked back on the work in progress or to come in the various colleges of the Deux-Sèvres department.

Thus, you were reminded that the work of the Pinier college in Melle was “well advanced while those of the Niortais colleges Gérard-Philipe and Philippe-de-Commynes are about to begin. »

The Melle construction site well advanced

The Pinier project in Melle (energy renovation and reorganization of spaces) will be completed at the end of 2025. Cost for the Department of Deux-Sèvres: €7 million including tax.

The first phase of the project dedicated to energy renovation is almost complete. This will be followed by the complete interior renovation of the establishment which will begin on July 8, during the long school holidays.

Work in Niort too

From this summer, two Niort colleges will also experience these phases of energy renovation and reorganization of spaces.
The cost of the work for Philippe-de-Commynes and Gérard-Philipe amounts to 11.9 million euros and 13.9 million euros respectively.

An investment envelope of 18.595 million euros was voted on Monday for the Secondigny and Thénezay projects.

Two big investments in Gâtine colleges

The start of work for the Secondigny and Thénezay colleges is scheduled for early 2026. These “new generation” establishments will open their doors at the start of the 2027-2028 school year for Thénezay and during the winter of 2027-28 for Secondigny.

Regarding the Secondigny college, whose project management competition was launched in the spring, the three selected teams will submit their projects this summer: those elected will choose the winner during September 2024. The study phase and launch will then follow. calls for tenders.
The future college and boarding school will be built on the football field located behind the current college. The reception capacities retained are:

middle school: 400 students, expandable to 500 students;
boarding school: 32 places, expandable to 60 places.

The buildings and exterior spaces will be designed in accordance with the orientations of the “college of tomorrow” responding to the priorities resulting from the thematic groups of the College Plan 2050.

During this public session, the credit recorded for the launch of the operation amounts to 11.795 million euros, or approximately 65% ​​of the total cost of the project.

Thénezay: an energy renovation

Concerning the Thénezay college, the project responding to the recommendations of the College Plan 2050 is currently being defined. It includes: an energy renovation of all day school, half-board and staff accommodation buildings; an interior restructuring to optimize the surfaces and functionalities of the establishment.

During this public session, the credit recorded for the launch of the operation amounts to 6.8 million euros, or approximately 75% of the total cost of the project.
