Where does the 2024 Tour de France finish?

Marked by the last pedal strokes of riders in Paris since 1905, the arrival of the Tour de France will not take place in the capital in 2024. The reason? The organization of the Olympic Games, almost concomitantly, whose opening ceremony is planned on the Seine, and the reception of spectators along the quays. In fact, for the first time in history, 121 years after the creation of the competition, the arrival will take place in the provinces.

A time trial to finish, the finish line in Nice

It is not the riders’ endurance that will be put to the test on this 21st and final stage of the Tour, but rather their ability to provide one last intense effort. For the first time in 35 years, the Grande Boucle will conclude with an individual time trial departing from Monaco, with a planned arrival in Nice (Alpes-Maritimes). A 35-kilometer course made up of two climbs – La Turbie and the Col d’Eze -, before crossing the finish line at Place Masséna.

From 1905, the arrival of the Tour has always been scheduled in Paris, and even on the Champs-Elysées since 1975. In 1903 and 1904, during the first two editions, the town of Ville-d’Avray, in Hauts -de-Seine, welcomed the arrival of the runners.
